Guaranteed Success


This programme offers Head Teachers/Principals a space to engage in total quality leadership thinking and learning. Participants will be introduced to a range of modern leadership practices whilst also developing effective followship.


  • To improve pupil outcomes by increasing leadership capital

  • To develop, establish and embed a professional learning programme for Head Teachers and Principals within schools

  • To create time and space for Head Teachers to connect, collaborate and communicate in a psychologically safe environment

  • To increase professional awareness and understanding of organisational success and the sustainable leadership competencies needed to lead a school in an ever-changing and complex world.

Over six modules, participants will explore techniques required to lead highly successful school teams, adding value and purpose to any organisation, through effective leadership strategies and insight into the process of effective decision-making.
The programme will investigate how a Head Teacher or Principal can maximise their influence using practical processes and frameworks and gain a deeper understanding of their leadership qualities, aligning these with the organisation’s core purpose and goals.

This programme has been designed around three key cornerstones:

1. The accountability of self

Module 1 - Self-awareness as a Head Teacher

Module 2 - Key guiding principles for high-impact 

Issues explored include:

  • The relationship between effective Headship and organisational leadership capital

  • Defining high performance Headship in the context of a modern school

  • The impact of Head Teachers on the performance of other leaders

  • Outlining the key principles for future success within any school

  • Identify common barriers to increasing a school's capacity for improvement

2. The changing role

Module 3 - The key principles for total quality success

Module 4 - Going deeper with total quality success

Issues explored include: 

  • How do we define success?

  • What got us to here will not get us to there...changes that must be addressed

  • Identifying systems and processes that shape success

  • Effective professional thinking and the development of an effective strategy

  • Critical analysis to identify future needs for total success

3. The future context

Module 5 - Ensuring real impact
Module 6 - Developing a learning community

Issues explored include:

  • How Head Teachers work towards embedding key principles for total success throughout a school.

  • Professional efficacy and sustainability - What does this look like in your school?

  • Two types of purpose - Aligning a school to both

  • Communicating and articulating a new vision for continuous improvement

  • Exploring the relationship between the Head Teacher and all other staff and how this acts as a key factor in professional engagement
